you do not save money tying flies. it is a hobby. you spend money on material and tools

Hmm....Flies cost anywhere from $1.00 to $1.95 each. Hooks cost about 15 cents, a grade A hackle from 12 to 15 cents, thread and materials are a penny or two. A reasonable vise can be had for less than $100.00 and it should last for decades.

If you fish A LOT you save money by tying.
